A few weeks ago, I visited family up in Crestline, CA. In the center of Crestline is Lake Gregory Regional Park, which includes a good-sized lake. Although the lake is man-made, the lake view is still beautiful as ever. To top it off, the lake is surrounded by a trail that goes all the way around the outside of the lake, complete with built-in exercise equipment periodically. Imagine the view while taking an early morning or evening run? I wish I had pictures of the sunrise and sunset over the lake - maybe another day.
I am writing this post not because I have reviews and memories to share of a place I've recently visited, but to confess (and ultimately kick myself into gear) that I have been failing my mission to "get out there" as of late. I had all these places that were Christmas-themed that I wanted to visit in December, but ended up being pretty sick for almost three weeks. While that is an acceptable excuse to most folks, I have been better now for almost two weeks, and I haven't gone anywhere. I had plans to go some places with my brother in L.A. County this past weekend but decided not to for some reasons that weren't really excuses - I could have made it work.
And this folks, is the rut I am trying to get out of; making excuses to not have fun and get myself out of the house (even without spending loads of cash). I have been failing my own personal mission and falling into the same habits. I need to do better. By admitting this publicly, I am hoping I will remember that there are people out there that can relate to my situation that are looking for inspiration to get up and get out like I am. For them (and myself), I will do better.
