This small community theater is a true gem in San Bernardino County. If you're into plays and musicals, this place is a great, quick getaway - go get dinner beforehand and you've got yourself a good date night!
My stepmom took me here for my birthday this year, and I really enjoyed it. Coming here takes me back to growing up in Texas. I remember back in Junior High, my friends and I would sneak into the high school and college plays (we couldn't afford the 5 bucks a ticket!) they had during Christmas and think we were rebellious and cool. Talk about bringing me back to my roots!
Anyway, this theater was converted from a church a while back, and continues to be faith-based and all actors are volunteers. The theater has plays that range from Bible stories to classics, such as Anne of Green Gables and Tom Sawyer, to Disney stories. The play writer usually incorporates a biblical message, but it is in good taste and not cheesy or overwhelming. They also do seasonal plays - to get us into the Christmas spirit, we saw SCROOGE the other night. Tickets are pretty cheap, around $26 bucks and you get to pick your seat. You can buy tickets in person or online at www.lifehousetheater.com (totally recommend online - the plays tend to sell out!) They have a little concession stand where you can get some goodies, plus a nice little seating area. Sugar-free cookies too! ;-)
The best part about these plays is that they are around 2 hours long, with a 15 minute break in between, so it's not too long to where younger kids would get jittery. It's a cute venue that's family friendly. My husband just isn't into these things - hopefully when my daughter is a little older, she might be willing to trade Paw Patrol for a theater play every now and again.
